An immutable loan ledger you can trust and reconcile

Recovery decisions are only as good as the balance behind them. The ledger is the single source of truth and cannot be rewritten.

How it works

  • Integer money. Amounts are stored in minor units (kobo, cents) — no floating-point rounding.
  • Append-only. Corrections are new reversing entries with a reason. Database triggers refuse UPDATE and DELETE on ledger rows and the audit trail.
  • Idempotent posting. A payment posted twice, or by two parallel processes, produces exactly one entry.
  • Allocation rules. Choose the order payments are applied across fees, interest and principal.
  • Dual control on cash. The person who records a manual payment cannot confirm it.
  • Reconciliation. Unmatched or mismatched provider payments, lender-reported balance differences and settlement files are queued for review instead of silently overwritten.

Why it matters

When a borrower, regulator or auditor asks "how did you arrive at this number?", the answer is a list of dated, attributed entries — not a spreadsheet cell.

Questions

Can balances be edited?

No. Balances are computed from ledger entries. To correct a mistake you post a reversal with a reason, which stays visible in the history.

How are duplicate payments prevented?

Each posting uses an idempotency key enforced by a unique database constraint, so replays and concurrent requests cannot double-apply.
